Questo ospedale è di fatto una vera e propria pietra miliare per la sanità in Africa, in grado di fungere damodello per il futuro e di creare una sorta di “emulazione” sia per ciò che riguarda le procedure di cura sia per come i materiali e le tecniche locali sono stati integrati con prodotti e materiali a elevato contenuto tecnologico e prestazionale. L’Africa è il continente che sarà protagonista di questo secolo, e la speranza è che il suo sviluppo, già molto forte e spesso associato alla fortissima presenza cinese, possa avvenire tramite modelli ed esempi virtuosi in grado di integrare la tradizione, la cultura e la società locale (anche le prassi costruttive più assodate) con la qualità di prodotti da costruzione innovativi. Il nuovo ospedale di Emergency è dedicato ai bambini, al futuro di queste nazioni, a cui vanno garantite la cura e una vita sana e protetta. Ciò che per noi in Europa è normalità, per l’Africa è vera eccezione, soprattutto per i più poveri.
